9.4 The Secretary of the Jilin provincial Committee of CPC met the international dignitaries in GELS

September 2011, the first GELS was opened in Chang Chun, Ji Lin, China. The summit was jointly hosted by APCEO and the people’s government of Ji Lin.

The theme of this summit is: the international technology and industry transfer under the new round of global economic restructuring. The international dignitaries from more than 80 countries and regions in the world, the Fortune 500, Forbes Global 2000 companies’ senior executives, industry leaders, Economists, head of the organization in the world, scientific and technological elites, more than 600 people attended the summit, to explore the subject concerning expanding exchanges and cooperation among developed countries and emerging economies, promoting the fusion and development of traditional industries and emerging industries.

In the afternoon of September 4, The Secretary of the Jilin provincial Committee of CPC met the International dignitaries attending the GELS.

9.4 Welcoming banquet held by the Jilin Provincial government

In the evening of September 4, the welcoming banquet of GELS was held in Shangri-La, Chang Chun. The vice Governor of Ji Lin province Chen Weigen addressed the welcome remarks. The banquet was hosted by the deputy secretary-general of Ji Lin provincial government Cong Hongxia. The international dignitaries from more than 80 countries and regions in the world, the Fortune 500, Forbes Global 2000 companies’ senior executives, industry leaders, Economists, head of the organization in the world, scientific and technological elites, more than 600 people gathered together. 9.5 Opening Ceremony of the Global Economic Leaders Summit 2011

The opening ceremony was hosted by the vice Governor of Ji Lin province Chen Weigen. Secretary of the Jilin provincial committee of CPC, global executive chairman of APCEO Zheng Xionwei, deputy prime minister of Lesotho Archibald Lesao Lehohla, member of Icelandic parliament Hon. Tryggvi Thor Herbersson and the second deputy speaker of Ghana parliament Hon. Aaron Michael Oquaye delivered important speech during the opening ceremony. During the conference, members of delegation watch the English feature film”Charming Yun Cheng”. They got deeply understanding on the convenient traffic condition in yunCheng city, the versatile industrial structure, thick culture, rich land resources, adequate human resources, favorable investment environment and fully affirmed the broad development prospect in yunCheng city. Mayor Wang Anpang detailed the advantages in terms of location, human resources of Yun Cheng and other aspects. Wang Anpang said Yun Cheng as boom town, is actively readjusting the industrial structure, focus on fostering the growth of "five industry clusters", accelerating the central city construction, actively undertaking industrial transfer. There were lots of cooperation opportunities in new technologies, new materials, and financial investment. At the same time, Yun Cheng has more preferential treatment in land supply, financial support, tax incentives, financial support and other aspects. These advantages will offer Yun Cheng more cooperation opportunities with Fortune 500 enterprises. In 7th, September, APCEO delegation investigated YunChengg Career Technical College, Shanxi Dayun Automobile Manufacture Company, China Resources Snow Breweries, yuda group, Yongji Xinshisu Electric Equipment Co., Ltd., Shan Xi QianJun Aluminium Co.Ltd., Huaxiong Textile Co. and other iconic enterprises in Yun Cheng and took a docking discussion with the heads accompanied with the deputy mayor Wu Hongwen and other municipal leaders. The delegation was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the people in YunChengg and the people-oriented concept of the enterprises; they were quite surprised with the advanced equipments; products and techonolgy, appreciated with Yun Cheng’s openness mind and actively cooperation with the outside world and had more profound understanding on Yun Cheng’s investment environment and policies.

During the investigation, Zheng Xiongwei said, APCEO, as an important economic organization promoted by Asia-Pacific economic leaders, is committed to create and provide more exchange opportunities for countries and various regions, promote mutual understanding, friendly and cooperative relations, enhance international cooperation in more fields. We come to the called “important cradle of the Chinese nation”, Yun Cheng, Shan Xi, and wish the travel could be a significant chapter about global industrial cooperation and development.
