The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee takes evidence from former Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude on Tuesday 12 January as it continues its inquiry into the work of the Cabinet Office.

As Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General during the Prime Ministership of David Cameron, between 2010 and 2015, Lord Maude initiated a programme of reforms designed to modernise the civil service. In July 2020 was commissioned by the Government to review the progress that has been made on the operation of Cabinet Office spend controls, the role of cross-departmental Functions, and progress on Civil Service reform.

The session is an opportunity for the Committee to question Lord Maude on the progress of the reforms initiated during his time in Government and on the remit of his new role reviewing Cabinet Office operations.
