Jorge More, CEO of the Veolia Environment (Asia): Ecological Management and Governmental Control

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:

My topic today is the sustainable development of ecology.

Ecological environment is crucial to a country's development. We have to make a lot of choices in the process of ecological management. We have to make choices and be full aware of its results. Political management is human-oriented. Environment management is not isolated, which should be combined with economy, politics and culture.

We have to make our policies transparent. All participants should be aware of the process of decision-making and the starting point of these policies. The management of environment must be based on real life with consideration of information and science. That is the whole global village.

In addition ecological management should combine science and politics. It should be carried out as a kind of important task

As an ecologist, he should know that ecology must be combined with politics and to make decisions from the current situation.

Ecology has a development of only 100 years which is comparatively short. We have to combine ecology and management in order to realize a sustainable development.

We have to work together to create a good environment for our next generation and the whole world. We still don't know whether ecology management could act as a bridge between science and wisdom. Let’s wait and see.
