Dr. Jack Q. Gao

Founding Partner and CEO of "Smart Cinema"

Dr. Jack Gao is the former interim CEO of Legendary Pictures in Hollywood, the former Chairman of AMC Theatres Board Compensation Committee and the former CEO of Wanda Culture Int’l Investments and Operations. Previously, Gao was a Group SVP at News Corp. and 21st Century Fox, where his roles included CEO, News Corp. China Investments; CEO, Star TV China; Chairman, Myspace China and Chief of the company’s Beijing Representative Office.  Earlier, as the 1st President and General Manager of Microsoft China Co. Ltd., Gao led business-development strategy, marketing & sales, and government relations to get the company well established in the country.

Gao serves on several publicly-listed corporate boards, including AsiaInfo Tech. Ltd. and AGTech Holding Ltd., and has been an adjunct business professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Gao graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology and the University of California, Los Angeles with B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering. Dr. Gao is listed in Forbes as one of "100 Most Outstanding Chinese People in the World" in 2022.
